Good evening AMAer’s. Hopefully by now you all have settled into your classes and have started off Fall 09 on the right foot! We’ve got some events on the horizon that I wanted to let you know about as well as one event that, unfortunately, has been canceled.
For those of you who are new to the club be sure to subscribe to our listserv to get the latest emails regarding AMA UHM, you can do this through the Mailing List link.Once on the mailing list you will start receiving emails about upcoming events, exclusive internships, and other updates about the club. Now for the upcoming events:
BEST/AMA Bowling Social Cancled
Due to circumstances beyond our control we had to cancel this event. We are looking to replace it with something and will be updating you soon. Any suggestions?
CIBER Fair
IBC has been doing a pretty bad job at promoting this so most people don’t even know what this is. Basically most of the business clubs are going to be out in various areas of Shidler tomorrow, each club has a booth that represents a country and culture in which students can study abroad at through UH. AMA has Germany. There should be lots of information about each country so if you’re curious about studying abroad be sure to check it out, there will even be games at each station. The fair runs tomorrow from 10am – 2pm
General Meeting #1
The first meeting of Fall 09 is on Wednesday, September 9. We will be running them the same time as we have in the past, 4:30pm – 5:30pm; in Shidler C102. At this meeting we will be collecting your applications and dues, as well as any unsold car wash tickets and money from sold tickets. Applications can be found in the Prospective Members tab. If you are still unsure if you want to join AMA or not come on down and talk to some of the current members as well as a better look at what the club is really about.
Welcome Back Picnic
Every semester AMA holds a Welcome Back Picnic. This semester we will be down at Magic Island on Sunday, Sept. 13 from 10:30am – 2:30pm. We will be BBQing and playing some games. This is a great way to get to know other members if you are a new member; its also our first social so expect a good turn out!
