Some Quick Announcements

Thank you to those who came out to our Welcome Back Picnic this past Sunday. It was a blast! There are pictures posted of the event on our AMA UHM facebook site. So check it out and see if you’re in any of them!

Upcoming Events

Interview Workshop
This Wednesday, February 3rd our Interview Workshop at 4 pm with Rick Varley. Rick Varley is the Internship Coordinator for Shidler College of Business and also helps students perfect their resumes. This event will count towards one Professional Development credit. To make active status, you need at least two Professional Development credits. The workshop will be located in BUSAD A102 rather than in our normal GM room (C101).

General Meeting #2
February 10th is our next general meeting at 4:30 pm in C101. This will be the last date to turn in your membership applications and dues. You can retrieve an application by visiting our Prospective Members page.

Rose Sale
Don’t forget to pick-up rose sale tickets from Kirstin. Our rose sale is on February 12th. If you are interested in helping out during our sale contact her via email (seal@hawaii.edu) or by phone (415-515-6526). Please turn in all your money and unsold tickets by General Meeting 2 on February 10th.

Island-Wide Scavenger Hunt
February 12th is our Island-Wide Scavenger Hunt. Please meet in Shidler Courtyard by 7:30pm. Last semesters scavenger hunt was crazy fun! Don’t forget to bring your camera!! After the hunt, come down to FMA’s FMAngels event at Ginza nightclub / lounge. This a white party event which means dressing in white attire is highly recommended. More information will be given at GM 2.

Super Bowl BBQ
Our VP of Socials, Mike Amado is having an unofficial social for Super Bowl. It will be held at his house. Contact Mike Amado at mamado@hawaii.edu for more information.

Professional Development
“The Art of Self Branding”
Learn how to market yourself at the “Art of Self Branding” event hosted by AMA and AD2, featuring Neenz Faleafine. Visit http://www.faleafine.com/neenz-faleafine/ for more information. The event will be held on Thursday, February 11th from 6 pm to 7 pm at the First Hawaiian Center. This event is worth 1 Professional Development credit. It will be $5 to attend. Please contact Muhayla Dobbs (808-226-7722) or email (muhayla@hawaii.edu) to RSVP by Friday, February 5th. Money can be turned in at interview workshop and GM 2. Business casual attire is required.

Team-One Internship
Don’t forget the Team-one Marketing internship application is due on March 1. if interested.

The Art of Self Branding

Neenz will show you how to use principles from the commercial world of brands and apply them to you. With over 10,000 followers on Twitter she’s a local leader in the social media realm. Join us for a thought-provoking session on self branding with Neenz.

Happy New Years and Welcome back!

It seems that Winter break came and went a little too quickly and the beginning of the new semester is well on its way! Hopefully everyone got the classes that they needed.

Thank you to all that made it out to CLIMAX this winter break. For those who did not make it, you MISSED OUT! But don’t worry, there will be another one coming shortly.

Recruitment Week
Starting next week Tuesday through Wednesday, the new AMA executive board members will be visiting class rooms throughout the college of business. Please show your support if you happen to see them. We will also have a booth during recruitment week located across from the Bean Counter and the directory. If you have time, come and hang out with the crew. Bring some friends along as well. we’ll let they know how awesome of a club we are!

Informational Meeting
Our informational meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 20th at the Shidler College of Business in room C101 at 4:30pm. Everyone is encouraged to come and show their support. This would be the perfect opportunity to bring your friends that may be interested in AMA. Free food will also be provided!

IBC Welcome back bash
IBC wants to welcome everyone back to school and they have planned an exciting first event for all of us. Our first IBC event will be held on Friday, Jan. 29 at Aiea Bowl. Now would be the perfect time time to show off your bowling skills for all of the clubs to see. If bowling ain’t your thing, there will also be tons of prizes, giveaways, food and drink specials all night long!
Tickets for this event will be issued during out first GM (1/27). Prices are as follow: +18 are $15 and +21 for $10.
